Authentic vintage vibes for modern musicians
The Amporium’s mission is to restore and offer vintage guitar amplifiers for guitar players to use and enjoy. Stop back regularly as we’re continually adding new amps, guitars and parts.
As well as restored and serviced amplifiers, you will also find a unique range of parts to help you service and restore your own equipment. These are mostly (but not exclusively) for Vox amps and many are not available elsewhere. We also sell a few used parts, speakers and some carefully selected guitars from time to time.
Whether you’re a guitar owner who dreams of pairing classic amps with your vintage guitars, a gigging musician seeking a classic backline or working in the studio, owning a vintage amp can be an investment that lasts you a lifetime.
Please note that we’ve been having some teething troubles with the contact form so have only just received some contacts from back in May - apologies if you didn’t receive a response, but all should now now working correctly.
Featured amp: 1963 Watkins Scout - 15w 1x10”
These classic tones from the heyday of British amps would make an excellent introduction to vintage amplifiers.
A rare and really well preserved amp, this 15 watt 1963 Watkins Scout is in very good cosmetic and functional condition and ready to rock.
Essentially, the same chassis as the more famous Watkins Dominator but in a compact enough to be a perfect home, studio or small venue amp. Exemplifying Charlie Watkins’ designs, this valve rectified circuit has two EL84 power valves, two channels and a sweet sounding tremolo. The result is a great example of vintage British amp tones - warm and articulate and breaking up sweetly when pushed hard.
